Christie Gonzales

Christie Gonzales received her cosmetology license just after high school and went on to attend Missouri State University where she received her degree in Education and met her first and favorite husband, David. They moved to Austin in 2000 and have 3 sons ages 20, 18, and 13. For the last 20 years she has owned and operated Academy of Hair Design, a cosmetology and barber school with locations in Austin and Springfield, MO. In 2012, the Academy partnered with Africa New Life to begin training Rwandan women in hairdressing and have graduated 107 students from the program. In 2016 she launched into new waters by joining a dear friend in business with Rodan & Fields. She sees her businesses as her mission field, believing her calling is to demonstrate the gospel to 30 employees and 150 students. Outside of her businesses, Christie has been involved in ministry throughout her college and adult life, including serving on Springfield, Northwest Austin, and Central Austin YoungLife committees. She also serves on ABBA's board, attends Austin Ridge Bible Church, and is a member of 4word.
