All New Monthly Gatherings beginning Feb 2nd!
We invite you to a new monthly gathering of student pastors from all denominations. Our goal is to better connect student pastors and create a solid support network that we can all lean on for advice, encouragement, resources, fresh ideas and more. Our gathering will last 75 minutes and include the following:
- Free Lunch
- 10 minute student pastor led devotional
- Round table discussion topics with special guests
- Prayer
- A time for collaboration, sharing events and building new strategic partnerships with one another
We invite you to bring interns and youth leaders as well. This will be a great time to be refreshed, think through challenging issues we face and build lasting relationships. We hope you will consider making these gatherings an important part of your monthly schedule.
Join us for our first 2012 gathering on Feb 2 hosted at Christ Community Church located at 12675 Research Blvd Austin, TX 78759. This is on the north bound access road of 183 after Oak Knoll.
Feel free to give us a heads on your attendance (for lunch purposes) or just show up. We will be discussing some ideas from the book The Next Christians about how this generation of students is more hands-on/experimental than any other before it. Does bible study as usual still work or is this new generation hungering for something that we have not yet provided them? You will also hear from one pastor who is pushing teens beyond their comfort zones and seeing them respond with a renewed passion for God!

7 YPIC groups are launching all over the city. A YPIC group is a gathering of 6-8 youth pastors from difference denominations who are coming together to encourage and minister to one another. This is a time for accountability, prayer, and genuine fellowship with one another. YPICs are NOT collaboration meetings or strategy sessions. We will not be planning nor promoting events, rather the focus is on building relationships with one another and ecnouraging each other in the faith.

Historic Senior Pastor & Youth Pastor Prayer Gathering in January
Why should I spend my time praying with other pastors?
Behind every great move of God there has been two unchangeable ingredients; desperation and humility. It’s a desperate desire to see the glory of Christ revealed, and a humbled mind that realizes only God could accomplish such a task. I believe that such a moment lies on the horizon for our city. God is bringing churches and pastors together from all over Austin who have that deep yearning and utter dependency towards God to transform lives. That is why I am anxiously anticipating the Pastor’s Prayer Gathering in January. Pastors from all over the city will be coming together to not only talk about ideas but more importantly to cry out to God to do something none of us could ever do on our own. There is no greater way for the Body of Christ in Austin to pursue God’s heart in unity than by coming together to pray, seek, and trust in His faithfulness. I’d encourage all pastors to be there, Senior and Youth, so that together we might hear God’s direction and heart for this great city of ours.

I want to encourage every student minister in the Austin area to make the Pastors Prayer Conference a priority this year. I was encouraged and challenged last year and hope more of you will join us as we seek to reach the students of the Austin area. Our time is valuable, and always being stretched, but I believe the time in prayer together will be huge in seeing our common goal of reaching students achieved.
